fs2_open_3.6.16: error while loading shared libraries: liblua5.1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory fs2_open_3.6.16 but i get the below error. Is the jar on fsoinstaller.I went to the download-page downloaded the fs2_open_3.6.16.tar.bz2 package, extract it. exes in the Freespace 2 folder are FRED2, FreeSpace2, FS2 and unins000. In the WXLauncher basic settings, it says "Folder 'Freespace 2' does not have any supported executables". Thanks for the prompt answer, I have reinstalled and used the FSO installed again. You should now be able to setup your game and play. One that is done you start wxlauncher and select the FSO exe file in the "Basic Settings" tab in the wxLauncher main window, e.g.
#OPEN FREESPACE INSTALL#
You then proceed to install wxLauncher which can be installed to any folder you like.
The FSO Installer puts a wxLauncher installer (yes, it should be more convenient) into your FS2 main folder.

The FS2.exe launcher requires the other launcher to have been started to setup the game, and regardless of whether I have already done so, this launcher says I need to select a graphics driver (or something along those lines). This doesn't add a launcher apart from the wxlauncher, which doesn't recognise the directory as having FSO.
